The aim of this gathering is for all ages to convene as a church family for the
purpose of worship, prayer, teaching, and mutual encouragement.


This year we will discuss and meditate on the reality of God being

both Sovereign and Savior; both Great and Gracious.  

We will discuss how His greatness and grace are displayed in

both His Sovereign creation of the world and

His saving redemption of that same fallen world.  

Great and grace don’t usually go together in this world.  

In God they are perfected, 

and because they are, 

we find help and hope, joy and everlasting life.

Adult Session: Day One

Creation, Fall, and the Grace of God (Genesis 1-3)


Biblical/Theological: In this session we will look at the Biblical and Theological themes of creation and how the greatness of the Fall precipitated an even greater need and display of God’s grace. Will pay close attention to God’s greatness as Creator and the even greater revelation of Him as Savior in the promise of redemption and restoration. 


Biblical/Practical:  In this session we will discuss and meditate on the difference made by knowing and understanding the sovereignty of God in creation and in our lives. We will look at the importance of knowing God as Creator and Savior, and discuss how greatness and grace work out in the world and in our lives.  



Adult Session: Day Two     

Grace in the Midst of the Storm (Mk. 4:35-41)


Biblical/Theological:  In this session we will look at the biblical and theological themes of God and the elements; how storms are often indicative of trials over which God is both great and gracious. Also, we will look at the importance of Jesus’ humanity in identifying with us and at the same time being with us to save us.  


       


Biblical/Practical:  In this session we will discuss God’s power over troubles and His presence in trials of this life. We will look at the truths we should hold dear while we navigate difficult times in life, and how Jesus both rides into the storm with us displaying  His power and brings us through the storms displaying His grace.
